  Hi there, I am an experienced software developer having originally set out on a career pathway building residential housing, then deciding to trade in my hammer for a mouse and mechanical keyboard and start building software. I have always loved all things big and small that are technology which residential construction was never able to itch. Whether it be a simple web design project or rolling my own home automation solution on a Raspberry Pi, you could say I am a bit of a maker at heart. Another passion of mine is application security, having attended a number of security related events such as KiwiCon, AppSec NZ and even a fantastic workshop run by the legendary Troy Hunt. This has led me to help with the formation of a security satellite group for the purpose of identifying and teaching security best practices within the company, to even finding and responsibly disclosing vulnerabilities within projects I have worked on. In terms of my beliefs I always followed the boy scout campsite principal when cutting code (leave campsite cleaner when leaving than when found). Meaning, I have always set out to not only implement a solution and or solve a problem, but to also improve things within a code base along the way as I find them. This can take many forms such as refactoring, optimisation to security fixes or authoring code documentation and I have used as my guiding principal. I have worked on a great number of exciting projects which I have provided a summary of some of my favourites below – • National Search and Rescue Data store – Front/back end website (ASP.NET MVC), API, (ASP.NET Web API/Swagger), direct query Power Bi reports with RLS. • Beacon - Website, mobile applications and PAlert earthquake sensors integration to capture seismic activity, API, Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) calculation, Spectral Acceleration (SA) Earthquake calculation, development and integration. • TAIAO - Development & configuration of a Databricks based prototype, user website and Jupyter Hub Kubernetes instance. • Digital Twin BOP DHB - ASP.NET Core MVC and React development, migration of client’s data to new system and Azure infrastructure deployment and migration. • Vertical Integration platform - Client website, Python based Azure function, Power Bi reporting, dynamic input form creation.
