The new journey has begun with learning the skills and requirements of a care worker, through the skills of modern Clinical Governance and looking towards joining these experiences in enhancing the beauty of care of human beings. I began in one of the oldest Medical Colleges in Asia, in Colombo and the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. I worked in one of the oldest Hospitals in Asia at Colombo General Hospital and one of the largest units dedicated to Trauma working through the sad periods of civil unrest and civil war. My Voyages of discovery of other countries and other health care systems began with my journey into Liverpool, North Wales, and Cork Eire. This journey took me through the practice of surgery of Trauma and elective Orthopaedics, the skills of Hospital management, delivering on best practice, practice development and the skills of Patient information, Clinical Governance, Audit and Report writing for the Courts as an Expert Witness. The second phase was working in Disability Assessment and the world of chronic illness and long term disability. I ended a brief rest in retirement but realised that the flame of care and achievement was still alight within. This second voyage began with care work and expanded to Clinical Governance. These close the loop of clinical experience, health care management, investigations and evaluation of health care. I am at the beginning of this voyage look forward to what treasures will be uncovered in the world of health care. I am looking ahead scanning the horizon for opportunities to utilise knowledge and learn from experiences available in the wonderful world of health care. Throughout this journey I also enjoy, technical and fiction writing, coaching sports and the particular joy of Rugby which affords a life style balance and also contributes and enhances my experiences and interactions with people, adults and children.
