Along the way I earned two Master of Science degrees, one in Biochemistry and another in Applied Clinical Nutrition. I combined these degrees to start two very different businesses in Vermont in 2010 - The Orange Owl, a vegan skincare company, and Alternative Roots Wellness Center, a holistic health clinic where we offer our chiropractic and nutrition counseling services. Both employed my strengths in different ways, but also helped me learn and refine skills important for any entrepreneur - time management, product research and development, creative problem solving, public speaking and strong relationship building. 2020 saw the closing of The Orange Owl, but also witnessed the beginning of a new adventure with Little Patakha - a brand for children that hopes to spark curiosity in young minds by introducing them to diverse sounds, images and ideas they normally don't come across. So they can learn from and celebrate differences rather than be wary of them. In addition to continuing my entrepreneurial work, I am strongly interested in supporting women and the BIPOC community looking to start their own businesses. As a business owner with over a decade of experience in multiple industries, I use my skills and experiences to help others to find their stories, develop their brand and give their ideas a chance.
