From January 2016 until July 2020, Alex served in the role of Chief of Party for the USAID-funded School Community Partnerships for Education Project (MUREKE DUSOME) implemented by Save the Children Rwanda. In this role, he was responsible for technical leadership, administrative oversight and overall coordination of the project. He led the program’s annual work planning process, detailing resource deployment estimates necessary to achieve proposed milestones and targets; he coordinated efforts leading to the development of the National Literacy Policy for Rwanda (still pending government approval). In September 2020, Alex was appointed Project Director for the USD 36 Million Gateway to Education project in Yemen, a position he held until September 2022.
