As a scientist, my research has largely focused on marine plastic pollution, studying the extent and impact of plastic in the ocean, inside our seafood and across the South Pacific & Indian Oceans, including the world's most polluted beach - the remote Henderson Island. I believe that scientific communication is critical, to translate data & statistics into knowledge that we can share as a global community to better inform individual actions and legislative decisions. By both participating in, and disseminating scientific knowledge, I hope to empower people to make informed decisions and access current research and information. With my own research into plastic pollution, as well as marine mammals, I have a solid grounding in marine issues. As a guide, I truly enjoy taking people to encounter wild places and learn more about wildlife, and my educational background and experience enables me to share a deeper and more meaningful encounter. Additionally, as a Divemaster and Freediver I love making people comfortable in the marine environment & opening their eyes to the magic under the sea.
