  A little about me…. I am a focused graduate student (3.74 GPA, Master of Business Administration, May 2022 graduation) attending Lake Erie College. During my time at Lake Erie, I was not only a student-athlete but also was lucky enough to be able to give back to the program that gave so much to me through the graduate assistant program. My time as a student-athlete and coach may not seem like the typical work experience you would find on a resume, but I have gained invaluable skills and traits that will benefit me as I transition into the workforce. The top two are discipline and adaptability. Both come from the roles I filled at Lake Erie. As a competitive wrestler juggling school, athletics, and part-time employment, discipline was an absolute must. I learned how to delegate and schedule effectively, honed my mind and body while going through grueling workouts, and learned what it was like to be a part of a high-level team while managing my weight and studies. A strong mind was a necessity. During my time at a university with a low budget, I was much more than just a coach. I had to be able to fill any role at any moment. I was a not only coach, but also a leader, a manager, a carpenter, an administrator, a fundraising machine, an event coordinator, a practice partner, a handshaking baby-kissing schmoozer, an athletic trainer, and most of all a mentor and resource to my athletes when they needed me. I know this position has readied me for the workforce more than I could have ever imagined. It was more demanding than I ever thought possible, but so unbelievably rewarding to see all the effort pay off for the young men I was coaching. I know it will pay dividends for me in multiple avenues of life. I am excited to use the skills and knowledge I gained during my time as a student-athlete, high-level coach, undergraduate, and graduate student to make a positive impact in my next profession.
