Heading up the strategy and architecture function for all retail solutions, I was responsible for the retail technology investment strategy for a 25m+ budget. During this time, I initiated several significant programmes to modernise our point of sale platform, payment solutions and store operations. Initiatives that I later became responsible for delivering as Head of Technology. Before taking on my latest position, I played a key role in the technology transformation programme, shaping ways of working, roles and responsibilities and contracting with our strategic suppliers. This allowed me to return to a broader role of defining how we deliver solutions, cost effectively, with a real focus on value and shifting to product-centric Agile delivery. Prior to M&S I was a founding member of two retail solutions start-ups, Retail-J and Enactor. As head of technology and development in both, I was responsible for growing each organisation into successful businesses (Retail-J being UK market leading for a number of years), delivering store solutions to over 40 tier 1 and 2 retailers in the UK and internationally.
