During my summer internship for Samsung, I have successfully built and demonstrated a proof of concept for the pass through eyes and facial expression feature, which is similar to Apple's EyeSight, for Samsung's upcoming VR headset. This feature does not require a 3D scan of the face, but still delivers high-quality results which are natural looking.
