  I am passionate about sports, events and the tourism impacts that sporting events can bring to a region, along with the role that sport plays in providing positive outcomes for the community. I currently hold a Directorship of the North Queensland Sports Foundation working to facilitate the promotion, development, management and encouragement of sport throughout the North Queensland region. Through my employment at Cairns Regional Council I developed and implemented the Go Clubs program, a club development and support model - the first of it's kind. Go Clubs is a brand new program aimed at providing our sporting clubs with a professionally managed club development and support program. The program will allow sporting clubs, no matter their size to have professional assistance in everything from starting a club to managing a club successfully. It's all about support for our clubs, information sharing and sustaining self-sufficient community clubs. I have completed a double degree Bachelor of Sports Management/Bachelor of Tourism Management with a major in Event Management at the University of Canberra, graduating in 2012. Throughout the four year degree I got the opportunity to complete work experience and internships with the Canberra Raiders, Western Region Academy of Sport and the ACT Road Running Festival and through this, in 2009 I was invited into the Golden Key International Honour Society for Academics, Leadership and Society.
