Austin Li’s Expertise I specialize in metabolite structure identification using nominal and high resolution LC-MS/MS. My deep interest in this area started from my graduate study and postdoc training when I worked on natural product chemistry using HPLC for purification, and spectroscopy, mainly NMR (coupled with MS, UV, IR) for structure elucidation. Since I joined the pharmaceutical industry, I have been working extensively on the elucidation of biotransformation pathways and quantitative bioanalysis, in support of drug discovery and development. I have also been actively involved in project assessment by conducting in vitro and in vivo investigation to evaluate potential exposure and safety issues of drug candidates and metabolites in human. Lately, I have acquired the experience of quantitation of protein therapeutics and biomarkers in biologic matrices using LC-MS/MS. I enjoy working on teams, having worked well with group members and collaborated with people from other groups and departments (synthesis, biologics, formulation, CMC, QC, etc) as well as CROs.
