I am interested in both basic and applied research. During my PhD at imperial college London, I learned to bridge material science to biomedical application and I gained the experience to become an independent academic researcher. My Ph.D. research focused on the synthesis of zinc oxide (ZnO) nanowires (NWs) by electrochemical deposition and the use of zinc oxide (ZnO) nanostructures for application in breast cancer treatment. This enabled me to acquire a solid background in practical and theoretical aspects of biomaterials synthesis and development, nanomaterials characterization, cell culturing, toxicity testing, cellular uptake of nanomaterials, nanomaterials-protein interaction, electron microscopy (SEM, TEM), as well as 3D live confocal imaging of nanomaterials-cell interactions.
