  I am a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Louisville, where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a track in Global Politics and International Affairs, as well as completed a minor program in Criminal Justice. Throughout undergrad, I held several leadership positions on campus, such as: Programming Director of the Engage Lead Serve Board (ELSB), Coordinator of the Cardinal Cupboard, Student Rep for the UofL 2020 Strategic Plan, Administrative Intern for the Inclusion and Equity Internship Program, Treasurer for both the MLK Scholars Society and SHADES, UofL NAACP Chapter President, Mental and Physical Health Committee Director (ELSB), and a representative of UofL’s Cultural Center Task Force. In addition, I earned several scholarships: the Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship, J. Blaine Hudson Scholarship, Woodford R. Porter Scholarship, and I was named a University Honors Scholar. This was all while maintaining part time jobs and being an active community organizer. I finished with a 3.691 cumulative GPA, earned two major student awards from my department along the way, and was even nominated for best thesis in the Arts & Sciences department. Today, I am still a community organizer. I focus my work on social justice issues through a socio-political and educational lens, with the goal of making this world a better and safer place for marginalized communities. For my profession, I serve as the Manager of Programs and Student Recruitment at a nonprofit called Educational Justice. In this position, I work in schools to recruit pairs of high schoolers and middle schoolers to participate in a tutoring and mentorship program together, whether that be meeting kids, teachers and principals, attending and/or holding events to spread the word, as well as oversee part time coaches who train our tutors or “activists” for the program. For freelance work, I work as a part time nanny/babysitter for families in the Louisville area through Amelia’s Nannies. This typically involves being on call for emergencies and date nights, where I work to provide last minute childcare for the families. I also am beginning my journey as a new consultant for people and organizations. I can assist in several areas such as DEI work, building community partnerships, social media and more. Outside of work; I enjoy binge watching television, listening to podcasts and reading books, going to museums, and spending time with my cats, Emerald and Allie!
