My 2019 projects include writing my first book and starting a new study on my expertise in food policy. This year, I'm dreaming even bigger and designing projects to help animals. In May, I officially launched new social enterprise, Dr. Pet Mom Pet Parents Community [DrPetMom.com]. Our goal is to encourage pet adoptions for all rescue animals. I'm creating a niche website to encourage people to adopt older and special needs animals. The official launch was May 6 to 12 to celebrate Be Kind To Animals Week. I'll keep you updated with blogs on pet heroes, pet parenting families, interviews, pet parenting tips, good health for your pets and a plethora of resources for pets and their pet families. 2019 will also be a year of juggling writing projects. I won an academic grant to research food policy and nutritional health in older adults in rural America. I look forward to my role as primary investigator and working with an excellent team of scholar-practitioners creating good for the future. Another writing project is my first draft of a book on adopting rescue animals, and a book on helping adults succeed in graduate school.
