  My 30 years in the National Park Service has given me a variety of skills . You could say I am a "jack of all trades!" My duties at Booker T. Washington National Monument change often due to the limited staff. I have worked 30 years giving programs for schools , summer camps, and adult programs such as Road Scholars. Other duties over the years have included my experience as a wildland firefighter for 18 years and a public information officer dealing with wildland fires and natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina. My last Public Information Officer detail was with a type 2 team on the South Fire in Northern California in September 2019. I attended law enforcement training at FLETC in 1993 and graduated from it but the park decided to do away with law enforcement so I did not serve as a protection ranger. Some other regular duties include managing a cooperating association bookstore for 30 years, transitioning an entire museum collection into the Automated National Catalog System, putting the entire library into Library of Congress and automating it with Voyageur. Details include many assignments all over the country including; managing 6 employees in 2004 on the Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery II travelling exhibit for 3 months; instructing new park ranger courses at Horace Albright Training Center from 1997-2008 in the Fundmentals II program; and serving as a Fire Education & Prevention Specialist at the National Interagency Fire Center in 2015.
