I served 4 years on Active duty in the United States Marine Corps and 25 years in the Air National Guard mostly full-time. I have also volunteered my time sitting on the National Guard Association of Michigan Board of Directors, a member of the Enlisted Advisory Council at the State level, and one of the founding members of the Enlisted Heritage House at Selfridge ANG, MI working on the Board of Directors for two terms in the position of Vice President and Treasurer. Voted by the residents to be on the Richmond Community School Board of Education for 4 years. When I am not spending time with family, I also volunteer my time as a Military Leadership Instructor in the evenings and weekends when available, during courses of the Airman Leadership School and Non-Commissioned Officer Academy at Selfridge ANGB. I am a graduate of Leadership Macomb class XV and was one of the very first Mentors for Junior Leadership Macomb Class I. I am a certified 4 lenses facilitator and teach classes of around 30 students every chance I get. Most recently I am a green dot implementer. I have been based at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan since 2000, the 127th Wing is composed of approximately 1,700 Citizen-Airmen and provides highly trained personnel and aircraft and support resources to serve the community, state, and nation. The 127th Wing operates KC-135 Stratotankers, providing global aerial refueling capability in support of Air Mobility Command, and the A-10 Thunderbolt II, flying the close air support mission in support of Air Combat Command. More than 70% of our Guardsmen are men and women who work in the local area and serve as "drill status guardsman" (part-time). We are the community - serving the community, the State, and the country. The 127th is truly the Macomb Air Force - the proven choice, the first choice, and an enduring choice, that our friends cheer and our adversaries fear.
