Taking advantage of my time spent on the floor, I have been able to gain skills and knowledge needed to move into my current role as a Manufacturing / Engineering technician. My experiences and knowledge with Brake Press, Mig & Tig welding, Laser cutting, Resistance spot welding and many other areas of sheet metal fabrication, have proven extremely beneficial in my current position. I have found my time as a technician to be extremely satisfying and educational. As I work with other coworkers, I am excited, and also challenged, as I try to develop new process changes into a culture of Tribal knowledge; "We have always done it this way", but continue to move forward and pass on the knowledge and skills I have developed as a fabrication specialist. With the proper delivery and presentation of our new processes, we are able to implement the necessary changes needed to ensure proper fabrication techniques, faster throughput, FPY and a quality product as the end result. Currently I am gaining experience with Stamping Press operations, die maintenance, along with die blank development. Process control improvements, trouble shooting, root cause analysis, the KATA process, Value Stream Mapping, 5's, and Kaizen events, are just a few other areas of concentration in my daily tasks.
