For many years now, a major goal of mine has been to find a way to combine my passion for history and culture with youth empowerment. I finished my Master's degree looking at the impact of consumer culture, and the Hip-Hop Industry on Youth culture and I would like to continue in that vein as well as incorporating critical pedagogy eventually doing work that will help to foster enlightened and politically engaged citizens with the tools to forge a better America. Ha- a tall order perhaps but, that's where I am right now. I hope to find work with youth, either in a grade school, university or youth organization. I will likely return to school in the future but for now I'd like to gain some experience in the field as well as gain further insight before doing so.
