Camilo Perez’s Expertise • Proven record of developing concepts to commercial products • Design & execute experiments, analyze data to test hypotheses & drive product development. • Distill and communicate results in written reports, oral presentations (more than 10 conference presentations), and scientific publications (over 6 peer-reviewed papers), and innovate in medical devices (5 patents awarded). • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in academia and industry. • Team player, adaptable to many roles due to the wide range of research experience & strong motivation. • Generate big data analytic insight reports and process real-time statistics. Technical leader with 15 years of experience in medical ultrasound. Ten years of medical device start-up R&D industry experience combined with sensor and multimedia technology products and over five years in the biomedical r&d experience in applied research. I have developed new diagnostic and therapeutic products for the treatment of coronary and peripheral arterial disease (including heart valves) using innovative cardiovascular catheters – lead the early product feasibility, cadaveric experience, and testing that lead to strategic collaborations with key cardiologists. Designed prototypes of electrical systems and optimized designs of multiple catheter components from VoC. Key experience with regulatory submissions (FDA, BSI, PMDA) and IP/Tech transfer. Pre-clinical experience of prototypes to develop products. Performed MOA, identified new product opportunities. My strong research and development experience and skillset comes from my Ph.D. in Bioengineering at the University of Washington, specifically at the Center for Industrial and Medical Ultrasound (CIMU) (Applied Physics Lab), where I developed industrial and medical ultrasound acoustics technology, including instruments, techniques, ideas, and products that have value to our society. Thesis: Characterizing ultrasound pressure fields, microbubbles & their interaction. My Ph.D. co-advisors were Dr. Thomas J. Matula (main advisor) and Dr. Lawrence Crum.
