Data was used to improve patient safety and quality of care - Trained RNs and other volunteers in appropriate dialogue for conducting survey and how to use survey tool. - Taught weekly cooking lessons to 13 students in grades 3 through 5 - Mentored four high school volunteers - Created a weekly lesson plan that included preparing healthy meals on a budget and interactive games. - Assembled materials for promotional events - Conducted research to find potential new distributors - Worked on media kits with the Sales Assistant and Assistant to the Publisher. - Scanned images from photo shoots - Created contact sheets and silos in Photoshop - Printed and assembled miniboards and 100% book (pre press materials) - Created an archive of beauty images from the past two years as a resource for the Senior Designer. - Balanced printing budgets between editorial and advertising - Worked on digital archiving project (preparing materials, research, Photoshopping) - Checked for quality control to make sure advertisements were properly placed. - Managed a staff of 20 to design daily pages, special sections, and a weekly arts magazine - Performance improvement: led initiative to improve workflow efficiency by two hours per night by working with every section editor to streamline their production process - Devised, implemented, and conducted training program for 15 new recruits to familiarize them with the computer programs and design standards of the newspaper - Ensured the aesthetic and print quality of the award-winning student broadsheet of Columbia University. - Designed 1-3 pages of sports content one night per week - Collaborated with sports editors, copy editors and photo editors to meet their design needs.
