Cassandra Furas’s Expertise In the last ten years, I've accumulated diverse work and travel experiences ranging from an Ivy League college to a small tech startup, and from Beijing and London to New England. I am currently using my passion, skills, experience and training to continue my career in education. After teaching English in China, Peru and for a public charter school in Texas, I fell in love with interacting with students in classroom settings. As a teacher, I encouraged my shy students to step out of the comfort zones to speak, read, and write in English. I endeavored to make the classroom environment fun and respectful for my students by treating them as individuals and appealing to their idiosyncratic interests. I'm currently working to help students enter the college of their dreams by working in Dartmouth's Admissions Ambassador Programs, which coordinates 15,000 admissions interviews each year working with 10,000 volunteers. In May 2017, I received my Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling, which empowered me with the theory, knowledge, and practice to guide and teach others in an educational, non-profit, or personal setting.
