Charlie Bright’s Expertise Cause and effect. From early in life, I have wanted to know what makes things tick and how to get the most out of them. My parents let me happily fix their cars and broken appliances. I chose to be a Mechanical Engineer rather than Electrical because mechanical encompasses things that go fast and make a lot of noise. MIT refined and sharpened my ability to figure things out. "Knowing what the problem is is half the solution," advised one pithy Professor to my Introduction to the Mechanics of Solids class. When stuck on a problem set, the teaching assistants would ask A) What do you know? B) How do you know that? and C) How would you then synthesize your answer? It has been my privilege and honor to get to help people by applying myself to solving the puzzles presented to me. Intellectual Property Creator • Created way to attain fast, underdamped, and precise dynamics without undershoot, ringing, or overshoot. For example, specific electrical input dynamics create only the desired mechanical output transient. Technique verified by test and is not limited to electrical and mechanical domains. • United States Patents 9,385,300; 8,683,982; 8,418,676; 8,113,179; 7,255,290 and patents pending. • My idea patented without my knowledge after I disclosed it under NDA: US patent 9,903,326. • Disclosed valve geometry to improve fuel control pulsation magnitude and bandwidth to Goodrich. • Disclosed fatigue-resistant hydraulic tubing that would save 110 pounds on the 787 to Boeing.
