  I am a pre-program conservator who is looking for opportunities to further my career in conservation. I currently work as a conservation technician for EverGreene Architectural Arts where the majority of my work focuses on decorative paint and plaster jobs on the west coast. I originally graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2016 with two bachelor's degrees in Anthropology and Classical Studies. My emphasis was classical archaeology, on excavations I learned methodologies for artifact extraction, cleaning, and storage. In 2018 I decided to pivot from archaeology into conservation. I re-enrolled in school to take the additional courses that were required for conservation programs, specifically organic chemistry and studio art classes. I also worked for my university's art gallery where I continued to gain experience working directly with different types of artwork and their needs. After graduating, I was accepted to a 6-month internship with Arlington National Cemetery, funded through National Park Service (NPS) Historic Preservation Training Center (HPTC) Traditional Trades Apprenticeship Program (TTAP) and Conservation Legacy Stewards Individual Placement Program. While working on rehabilitating the monuments throughout the cemetery, I learned new techniques for both masonry and metal restoration.
