Chris Vandyke’s Expertise I believe God has gifted and equipped me to be a passionate shepherd of people. Whether we are just engaging in small talk or discussing deep theological issues, I love to sit and talk with others and really get to know them. Whenever possible I love to direct conversation back to Christ and the hope we have in what He has accomplished on our behalf. I have been volunteering/working with youth, my favorite age group, since 1997. I believe it is one of the most crucial times in the spiritual development of any person. I enjoy taking part in the wonder of watching a teen discover the freedom and hope they have in Christ and I especially love the passion that only youth can portray with their boundless energy. While the teen demographic is my favorite age group I have quickly become an expert in the world of young children. I am a proud father of 4 awesome children and have the privilege of walking alongside my beautiful wife, April, as we learn and discover the treasures and surprises that children so often bring into a marriage. God has also asked us to care for April's grandmother, whose household we manage from a distance. Our family is large, busy and full of constant schedule changes. It keeps us on our toes, but in the end we daily recognize God's hand in keeping us fruitful and effective for His kingdom.
