Christoph Deiler’s Expertise Working at DLR since 2011, my main focus is on modelling and system identification of aerial vehicles. Within several national and international research projects I accompanied various flight test campaigns to gather the relevant data for model identification. Facing different identification problems, during the last years, I further developed and mature different system identification tools and the corresponding model simulation frameworks. I further developed new model structures for special problems like dynamic simulation of aircraft characteristic under icing influence. My current main research interest is on modeling and simulation of aircraft for specific applications like flexible aircraft or icing, inflight ice detection, flight data evaluation and the determination of flight performance models from big data sets. Having a long experience in system identification, the research is further not limited to aircraft but also is expended to the identification of other (technical) systems.
