Christopher Lund’s Expertise Growing up, I have always enjoyed taking products apart and learning exactly how they work. From troubleshooting my toys that were not working properly to helping my dad restore his 1970 Plymouth Road Runner, I was fascinated with product design at an early age. It was this continued fascination and passion that led me to attend Kansas State University to obtain a degree in mechanical engineering. During my studies there, I become the airframe team lead and vice president of the student Unmanned Aerial Systems design team. Under my leadership, the team developed three new Unmanned Aerial Vehicle’s that were lighter and stronger than their predecessor. The decrease in weight allowed for more flight time which was a key reason our team took fourth place in the 2014 AUVSI SUAS competition. After I graduated with my mechanical engineering degree, I was overjoyed to start my career at AGI Tramco in Wichita, KS. During my first two years at the company, I worked as an applications engineer which involved reviewing customer specifications and making sure that they could be implemented in our equipment. This position taught me to be very detail oriented. During the rest of my time with AGI Tramco, I’ve worked as a design engineer. My responsibilities under this role have been much more diverse. In addition to my normal responsibilities, which are to model and validate custom conveyor designs, I have written and improved standard operating procedure for the engineering department, assisted in lean process improvements for production, and redesigned the company’s air supported belt conveyor product line. The standard operating procedures that I wrote for modeling specific aspects of conveyors reduced the time needed to model them by up as much as 50%. The redesigned belt conveyor, once finished, will be cheaper and easier to produce while maintaining the same level of performance. I am interested in further developing my skills and pursuing new opportunities as a mechanical engineer. Skills/Interests: SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation, SolidWorks Flow Simulation, FEA, CFD, ANSYS, Mathcad, AutoCAD, Stress Analysis
