Due to the smaller scale of fashion styling industry in Southeast Asia, I decided to go back to retail to better understand the local market and to establish a local network. Shortly after settling down back in Asia after having gone for 8 years, I found myself working as a Sales Associate at Louis Vuitton Singapore, as well as being a part of the in-store visual merchandising and client development teams. In 2012, I landed a Visual Merchandiser position in the pioneer team of H&M Malaysia. There I developed a commercial mind and took on additional role as one of the VM Trainers to mentor newly-hired VM's to cope with fast expansion. With eagerness to expand my career portfolio, I moved on to FJ Benjamin (managing Celine, Loewe, Superdry) and Burberry thereafter to enhance my management and VM skills. My passion for visual merchandising encompasses both luxury and high-street brands. I always see my role as a visual enhancer for the retail stores as I believe that with clear and attractive product display, it'll greater benefit the experience of the shoppers, as well as encourage sales. After leaving my tenure as a Visual Merchandising Manager at Christian DIOR Couture in December 2021, I took a sabbatical leave in 2022 to venture into other interests - Floral Designer & Property Agent. The break was much needed as I hit a career “bottleneck”, being in a small fashion market like KL, there is very little opportunity for creative growth in the realm of VM if I wanted to explore windows & interior designs. With a revived energy and spirit, I’m now back in luxury retail as a Senior Client Advisor at Bottega Veneta - hoping for a new growth and synergy in the frontline & client servicing.
