  I began Innovative Counseling, Inc. in March of 2000 with a long time friend and fellow Social Worker, Cindy Connolly (originally from the Boston, MA area) and part-time fellow social worker, Cynthia "Tia" Thomas, (originally from Iowa & Omaha, Nebraska) who has since become Innovative Counseling, Inc.'s Full Time Clinical Director. I dreamed of a small Wisconsin Licensed Outpatient Mental Health Clinic where we could provide services to children at risk and those with special needs. Never did it ever dawn on me, that Tia (she is the builder & I am the Dreamer) would just keep building even as we out grew two rented office spaces until last fall (2009) we purchased a 7000 square foot office Building. I think we have just one or two open offices left in the 7000 square feet. Innovative moved in January of 2010 from our rented office space of 2500 square feet. Now that is what I call growth! In the movie Field of Dreams, they had the voice telling Kevin Costner's character "If you build it they will come!" and they have, and we at Innovative are all grateful and pleased that we have all built such trust in our community. Innovative Counseling, Inc. has the best staff (yes I know I am biased). They are loyal and some of the hardest working therapists and staff I have ever known. It is my belief that "work should be fun". In my view professionals should not be micro - managed - that just zaps all their energy and creativity away. I firmly believe in "Thinking Outside of the Box". I believe in "Collaboration" and working as a team. I have seen the success that collaboration can achieve with children & their familes. Innovative has come a very long way in the ten years we have been in business. All of us at Innovative are very lucky to have the co-workers that we all have. Innovative has a wonderfully loyal, creative collaborative team.
