I received promotions in physical therapy and mental health. Worked for 4 medical sales and managed care companies between 1986 and 2011. I was a top producer most years. In 2011 I decided to return to the clinical side of healthcare and worked as a Patient Transporter at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital until 2016 when I retired for a short time. Even at the ripe old age of 70, I felt like I still had a lot of gas left in the tank and something else I needed to do. I took the course through NATS to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and passed the certification in 2017. I accepted a position as a Care Partner on the Oncology/Hematology Unit at Vanderbilt and later transfered to the Cancer Clinic in June of 2018. In March 2020, in response to the Coronavirus pandemic, I volunteered to help with the screening and testing. I still help with the screening and testing as well as maintaining my regular responsibilities of triaging up to 30 patients a day for as many as 4 providers.
