He has been an exhibiting artist in various media beginning with photography at age 12. Marder has A MFA in Glass From Tyler and more than ten years of University teaching experience. From neon bending and torch work, to off-hand glass blowing, kiln/direct casting, and cold working glass. Marder is a master of proces. in 1998 He Pioneered the Maryland State University Glass Program at Salisbury and is also well versed in other "fire arts" such as ceramics, black smiting, foundry, ferrous and non ferrous metal working and casting. He Has a BFA in Art and Technology from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago . Technology, perception of relationships in the contemporary world, and Process drives his work. Some of His most recent work explores his experiences and how he and his family coped with the relationships of being expats immersed in a foreign culture Japan adopting tradition learning new lessons and figuring out what is relevant in a time of such extreme cultural change in American Society during thier absence and the flood of daily Cotempory issues that arise.
