I have nearly five years of systems engineering experience at the United States Missile Defense Agency, and over eight years of medical research experience studying the affects of acute kidney injury. In 2020, I received my master's degree in Systems Engineering with a focus area of Human Systems Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University. My work experience has given me a wide range of skills that range from performing technical bench-science experiments, to managing and coordinating engineering teams spread across the United States and multiple other countries. While completing my undergraduate engineering education I gained engineering design experience in several areas. For my senior design project, my group fully designed and built an electric wheelchair for toddlers from the ground up. This project required the design and construction of a new wheelchair chassis and vehicle control system to be integrated with commercial-off-the-shelf wheelchair components to create a novel kid-friendly electric wheelchair. I also have experience in tissue engineering in designing a spinal cord tissue regenerating scaffold and a novel titanium hip implant. At this time, I also worked two jobs in which I gained research and real world experience as a research technician and parking valet. To go along with the engineering degrees, I also possess bachelor degrees in biology and philosophy. This diverse educational background has given me a unique background from which I am able to apply strong critical thinking skills to engineering problems by adhering to a logical thinking process when presented with technical and scientific data.
