Regular liaison with in-house photographers and the freelance photographer, artists in production, and a vast array of clients. Drove the editorial content for other key editorial products, including Gallagher Group’s 70th Birthday tabloid, annual Fieldays publications, Waikato Master Builders’ annual House of the Year publication, and the Home Show magazine. Long-term editorial planning and strategising for the department’s flagship publication – House and Lifestyle – taking into account both editorial integrity and commercial opportunities. Under my editorship, House and Lifestyle grew from publishing every second month, to publishing monthly. It grew in pagination and was then published in gloss stock. I oversaw the publication and its masthead’s redesign.This was a temporary role covering all aspects of administration work, from managing reception to typing reports, taking minutes at meetings, preparing documents, and assisting with travel bookings.Originally hired as a temporary receptionist during a working holiday in Western Australia, I was offered a permanent position with the company. Typed up and prepared geotechnical reports for several large mining clients including Newmont, BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, and Fortescue Metals Group. Liaised closely with the company’s large team of geotechnical engineers and scientists on reports. Booked travel and accommodation for management and staff. Managed staff training and training records and booked staff into courses, conferences and workshops where appropriate. Managed accounts receivable and was tasked with debt collection, ranging from minimal sums to multi-million dollar accounts.
