Prior to nursing I had completed my BA in Psychology and following my year in long-term care, I then found my passion, mixing mental health with nursing, when I started with Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care. I have just celebrated 5 years of employment (2018-2023) I began my psychiatric nursing career on the inpatient Dual Diagnosis program which I am very passionate about and spent 4 years doing. In 2022, an opportunity came up and I transferred internally to the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy program. At OSP, I took on a leadership role as an Intake Screener for the new Brampton-Halton-Mississauga catchment location. I am currently holding a contract with the amazing Georgianwood program for Concurrent Disorders, running evidence-based groups for voluntary inpatients experiencing mental health diagnoses along with a substance use disorder. I am so appreciative of the opportunities and diverse experiences I’ve been able to have as an RPN and look forward to the future!
