I also enjoy the satisfaction of making my community a better place to live and helping to serve or educate the public about the forest My educational experience at CSU has given me an interest in plant biology and forest health. Some of my favorite classes have been Integrated Tree Health Management, Plant Pathology, and General Entomology. I was able to apply the knowledge I learned in class to a field environment during an internship with the Forest Health Protection agency in 2015. During this internship I helped to monitor populations of potential forest pests, identify the causal agents of forest diseases, and help educate the public on hazardous trees and forest health issues. Previously I worked at several jobs that required manual labor, operating heavy equipment, and always maintaining a safe work environment. In the military I served as a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic and supervised a squad of 5-7 soldiers. This required that I have a fundamental understanding of automotive mechanics as well as ensuring the safety of my squad. I also worked as a fencing laborer during the summers while studying at CSU. It was important that we conducted ourselves professionally and regarded the concerns of customers’ property while performing construction or demolition. Us Forest Service
