One of my ambitions is to create an industry-leading compliance capability that combines new technologies and new approaches whilst maintaining alignment with the firms enterprise goals. Creating a compliance function for the future means embracing new technologies like machine learning, articulate intelligence, and advanced analysis. This will allow the function to be proactive in predicting future risks, evolving regulations, and evolving financial crime risk and fraud typologies in the digital era. To my mind Compliance should be a strategic partner and value proposition for our customers, businesses, regulators and internal stakeholders. Prior to being appointed Chief Compliance Officer, Asia-Pacific I have held a number of senior management positions at HSBC which spans a number of businesses and geographies. Some of my previous roles include Head of Financial Institutions Group, HK; Regional Chief Operations Officer, FIG Asia-Pacific; Regional Head of Traded Credit Credit Risk Management, Asia-Pacific; Head of Global Markets Transactional Client Group, and European Head of Hedge Fund Coverage both within Global Baking and Markets, EMEA Hsbc
