David Murphy’s Expertise BrandX Motorsports is a family business specializing in restoring and selling parts for the shark - the Porsche 928. Son Brandon, founder and president of BrandX, has been collecting cars for years. His home stable includes a Cobra replica he built, a Firebird and a couple of Jeeps. We now have our shop/warehouse that houses a half dozen 928's plus a BMW, an MGB and soon the Corvette returning from the painter. The new warehouse is a breakout for the business and it allows us to continue collecting and expand our commitment to the operation.National responsibility for corporate support center including HP-UX, IBM-AIX and NT-Intel servers. Managed 3rd party hardware and software relationships.DBMurphyUSA is a manifestation of the "Next Thing" in my life. The last thing was a 45-year career in information technology. I am now engaged in several pursuits generally involving the Internet. The products of these efforts are seen in many ways. DarbyGlen.com, DBMurphyUSA.com and PicturesFromTheRide.com are Internet sites that I have developed. The last of these, "PicturesFromTheRide", is a site developed in association with the Transit Alliance Citizen's Academy and the Denver-based Regional Transportation District. The site features contributed photographs which include aspects of RTD buses and/or the RTD light rail system. I have explored and developed various aspects of the Amazon Affiliate Marketing programs. Amazon is clearly a marketing powerhouse and they aggressively provide opportunities for "associates" to leverage their power. Examples in this category include developing WordPress-based referral web sites and the establishment of an "aStore" with the Amazon community. Finally, within the current scope of the "next thing" is writing. The objective is to create fiction and non-fiction "content" for publication in e-books. The first publication is the children's book "The Day the Apple Bopped Darby on the Head" which was published in October of 2012. The future intention is to expand the Isaac and Darby series as well as develop non-fiction subjects in the areas of database and enterprise application design.Darby Glen, Inc. is the corporate entity for Dave and Barb Murphy. DBMurphyUSA is a DBA of Darby Glen, Inc. In late 2012, Darby Glen published the first in a planned series of children's education books. The books are eBooks published on Amazon. As of January, 2013, searching Amazon for Isaac and Darby will show that the second of the series has just been published. At IsaacAndDarby.com we compare the illustration styles found in "The Day the Apple Bopped Darby on the Head" and "Where Does the Sun Go at Night".Opened the Denver office and managed the ERP Y2K implementation practice.Supported ERP development sites and the USDA national plant services program.Developed software for the HP260 including realtime MRP and ERP applications in a joint development arrangement with Hewlett-Packard. Developed the software installed nationally for Plaintiff Lawyers. For Cincom Systems, developed various database system in manufacturing and financial areas which led to a relationship with the Baldwin company. This ultimately led to my managing the software development for the 10 Central banks owned by Baldwin in Colorado.Joined IBM at the birth of the System 360. Trained on and supported customers in all facets. Then became a marketing representative in the Cincinnati banking territory.I managed the ongoing development and support of the custom Computer Integrated Manufacturing system. This HP-UX/Oracle system collects all quality and process data implemented in nine plants in the U.S. The system is based on operator and lab technician entry of data collected throughout the manufacturing and quality control processes. After a life of about 15 years, I am participating in the evolutionary implementation of an integrated Manufacturing Integration System featuring tight integration between Wonderware and SAP.
