In 1994 I started my own consulting practice, OffTech Computing Pty Ltd, specialising in the design and development of software related to business quality management; at OffTech we also designed and created software used in project and costing control in the manufacturing industry. While working with several Adelaide-based manufacturers as a government-sponsored management consultant, I completed my MBA degree from Charles Sturt University in 2002. Since 2003, I have been designing and developing custom software in the fields of civil and structural engineering for clients wanting to move their businesses into computer-based design, including the use of remote access using the Internet. Specifically, my recent focus has been on developing cost-effective ways of using the Internet to allow professional engineers to carry out their tasks on a range of devices, including tablets and mobile phones.
