After 20+ years working with the Way4 platform, I have a broad network of connections within the Way4 expert community, among OpenWay employees, and leading payment providers such as Equens/Worldline, SIX/Worldline, Network International, NETS/Nexi, Raiffeisen, MasterCard, and Finaro. I see that most of the companies employ FTE or procure Way4 services from third-party providers. The problem is that none of the companies and none of the experts can cover the full spectrum of Way4-related tasks. The broader are responsibilities the less efficient it is. Also, paying salaries to employees or time-and-materials to service providers is not the wisest way to spend a budget. Fixed-price is much more predictable and transparent. However, third-party service providers avoid the responsibilities of fixed-price or put a huge margin to cover their risk. It could be a solution to use multiple experts for various projects. However, there are two issues with that - onboarding and integration. Onboarding takes time and effort and is often blocked by legal or organizational obstacles. Integration requires end-to-end ownership of a platform and sound architecture and processes to avoid chaos while multiple service providers drive their way. However, both issues have solutions. Onboarding can be done via your existing service provider, which already passed through the procurement process and have a contract with your company. Integration can be solved via well well-defined modular structure of services where services are standardized across all OpenWay clients. Using this approach companies can cut a budget for maintaining the Way4 platform, minimize risks, and obtain an up-to-date level of expertise with a fraction of the cost.
