Denis Tomas’s Expertise After attending the Nautical School, Engineering Department in 1986-1990, I joined the National Merchant Company. Having completed my one-year apprenticeship and successfully passed the examination in the front of the Board of Examiners from Harbour Master’s Office at Split Croatia I obtained my Marine Engineering Certificate of Competency in 1991. Afterwards I continued my career with the several different companies, serving first in capacity as Third and later as Second Engineer on different types of vessels ( Passengers Vessels, Container Carriers, Bulk Cargo vessels, Chemical Tankers ). Meanwhile I successfully graduated Marine University and got diploma of the Marine Engineering Bachelor’s degree. Also passed course and I got license for Chief Engineer officer on a ship powered by the main propulsion machinery of 3000 kw propulsion power or more. In last eight years I have been employed as a First / Second Engineer on board MRSV-DSV (Diving support saturation ) ships in the North Sea and West Coast of Africa owner of the boats are Siem Offshore Norway and Bourbon Offshore France. My last an employment was on Horizon Geosciences Survey as a Second Engineer and after promoted to the Chief Engineer on the Geotechnical Drilling project North Sea Europe and North Atlantic USA . My total sea service is 27 years Chief Engineer horsepower STCW III/ 2 endorsement. Chief Engineer Officer on a ship powered by the main propulsion machinery of 3000 kw propulsion power or more.
