Donna Doyle’s Expertise Growing up in the Chicago area, I was a prize-winning pianist and violinist, serving as concertmaster of my 60-piece HS orchestra. In college, I became interested in music theory and composition, winning a scholarship to study with the famed French teacher, Nadia Boulanger. Later, at the Manhattan School of Music, my 150 pp MM degree thesis examining the chamber work, "Pierrot Lunaire," by Arnold Schoenberg, received an A+. Since then, I have completed coursework for the PhD in Music Theory at the CUNY Graduate Center. Most of my time is spent teaching; I occasionally write original compositions and analysis papers and perform as a pianist.
