This volume included commercial, institutional, and light industrial projects ranging in size from $10 to $500 million. Responsible for the following activities: u2022 Risk management and mitigation; u2022 Continuous improvement of project delivery and business processes; u2022 Quality assurance/quality control; and u2022 People development. Implemented programs to enhance the Companyu2019s pre-construction services, reduce impact of subcontract default, improve effectiveness of project delivery processes and to accelerate development of all personnel including young professionals. Actively involved in the various project delivery processes which included construction management, design-build and P3. Monitored the project delivery from the u201cRFPu201d stage to project completion and subsequently improved the processes to enhance client satisfaction, reduce risk, and increase productivity.Progressed from design engineer/project manager to Structural Division Manager, Regional Manager, to Vice President and Partner during my 30 years with Reid Crowther. Served on the Companyu2019s Board of Directors for 11 years. Vice President for the Structural Engineering Division, responsible for overseeing the design and construction of $300 million worth of projects in the four western provinces. Lead the design and construction of major highway and railway bridge structures, as well as the assessment, rehabilitation, maintenance and asset management of existing bridges. Bridge structures designed include major river crossings such as the Circle Drive Bridge in Saskatoon, flyovers and ramps, grade separation structures, haul road bridges, pedestrian bridges, and heavy rail bridge structures. Involved in the assessment and rehabilitation of existing bridges, the establishment of bridge management programs for municipalities and for the development of bridge management tools and techniques. Extensively involved in the design and overseeing construction on civil structures, commercial, institutional, and light industrial buildings. In-depth knowledge of construction materials having designed reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, masonry and timber structures. Designed the first precast, pre-stressed concrete water reservoir built in Canada. Managed a captive professional liability insurance program and was responsible for the execution of all engineering services contracts. Managed and settled liability claims against the company, the majority of which were resolved without litigation. Also developed and successfully implemented an ISO 9000 Program for 11 offices of the Company. This accreditation was the first for a Canadian consulting engineering company.
