Dow Yoder’s Expertise After earning a full football scholarship to Mississippi College in 1989, and playing for the Choctaws on the NCAA Division II National Championship team, Dow Yoder graduated in 1994. He was the 3rd person in the history of Mississippi College to be appointed as a Truman Scholar by the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation--- a memorial established by the United States Congress for those dedicated to careers in public service. Following college, he worked on the 1994 campaign of current United States Senator Roger Wicker, who was elected as the first republican to the United States House of Representatives since Reconstruction in Mississippi’s First Congressional District. After serving as an intern law clerk for United States District Court Judge Charles W. Pickering, Sr., Dow Yoder graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1999. He clerked for Mississippi Supreme Court Justice Michael P. Mills until entering private practice. Admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Mississippi, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and United States Supreme Court, Yoder has also served on the Mississippi Supreme Court Mediation Rules Committee; the Ethics and Lawyers/Judges Assistance Committees of the Mississippi Bar. He is a member of the Mississippi Prosecutors’ Association, and has been a life member of the National Rifle Association since 1985. Dow Yoder prosecuted felony criminal cases as an Assistant District Attorney in Madison and Rankin Counties from 2008-2015. He was appointed as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in 2009, where he assisted the United States Department of Justice with white collar fraud prosecutions in the Southern District of Mississippi. He volunteers with the Andrew Jackson Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and with local youth athletic programs. He and his family reside in Ridgeland, and worship at Broadmoor Baptist Church.
