In August, 2013, I launched my first company, Playout, LLC, with the revolutionary product, Playout: The Game, an exercise card game that makes fitness fun for people of all ages and fitness abilities. I've always loved sports, running and playing in the woods, climbing, hiking, biking, skating, snowboarding, and everything in between. When I wasn't exercising outside, I was playing every card, board, or video game I could get my hands on. When I got to Emory University, I became passionate about health and fitness. I studied abroad in India during my sophomore year, and could no longer rely on a gym to exercise. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise, and after learning yoga and martial arts, I was liberated from a gym forever. One day, I had the amazing revelation: “Why do I need to workout, if I can just PLAYOUT!?” And that’s where the fun really started. A year later, I combined my passion for exercise with my passion for games, and I wrote down the very first edition of Playout: The Game on a pack of multi-colored flash cards. I began sharing the game with people, and getting amazing responses. From “I hardly even noticed I was working out” to “Wow! That was fun!” to “I didn’t know bodyweight exercises could be so tough!” everyone had something great to say about the game.
