  My name is Elijah Atley, an undergraduate at Delaware State University pursuing a bachelor's degree in environmental science. I am originally from Wilmington, Delaware and I attended Hodgson Vocational Technical High School in Newark, Delaware. Originally the career path that I wanted to take was civil engineering until towards the end of my senior year in high school I wanted to become more involved with the environment instead. As I got to college and started to get more involved, my passion for wanting to pursue being an environmental scientist grew stronger. The thing that I am trying to accomplish is graduating college, gaining employment in a government job or another specified job for my field, becoming the environmental scientist I am pursuing to be, and eventually conducting my own research within a company or government position. The way an organization can help me accomplish these things is by giving me the experience, opportunity, and advice to help me better myself so that when I do go into the field I will know what I am doing. The main thing that I want to gain from an organization is the experience of doing work or research and learning from individuals who are already in the field to gain knowledge.
