Elisabeth Kinsey’s Expertise I am a first-generation student who relied on mentors to navigate my educational goals. As a student-centered teacher, I honor each student's journey and direct their learning to what is most meaningful for that individual. My classrooms are multicultural, multidimensional think-tanks with emphases on mining family stories and significant events to discover how student voices can add to the larger framework in which they live. As Lead Faculty, besides serving on assessment and curriculum committees, I have enjoyed contributing to a program that focuses on the individual, cultivating interdisciplinary and innovative approaches to creative writing, rhetoric, and literature courses. Online platforms: Canvas, D2L, Moodle, and Blackboard. I've developed curriculum for online and face-to-face literature, creative, business, and rhetorical writing courses for over ten years. By the way - these are all of my own thoughts. None of this was rendered by AI. Just thought I'd share that. :) My research interests are focused on gender and trauma in life-writing and mixed-genre approaches of Early Modern to present female development narratives. My studies and presentations in Victorian novels have identified positions of concealed authority, an approach to depicting the self in unique roles of autonomy against a hegemony of oppression. Other emphases are intersections between digital archives, digital humanities and current pedagogical deliveries in writing and the global community. I received my BA at MSU and my MA in Creative Writing at Regis University. I obtained my doctorate in 2020 from the University of Denver in Literary Studies. Select publications include: Tupelo Quarterly, Women in Nature, Greenwoman Magazine, Wazee Journal, Metrosphere, Apogee Emergency Online Journal, The Rambler, The Coil, and Ask Me About My Divorce, Seal Press. Current Literary research: Exile narratives to navigate autonomy, 1700 to present. Seventeenth and Eighteenth-century female writers, Female Bildungsroman, Aphra Behn, Margaret Cavendish, Mary Astell, Daniel Defoe, Charles Dickens, Virginia Woolf, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, George Eliot, and Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel. Creative Nonfiction Project: First Person Removed, A Memoir Without Me Fiction Project: A daughter of Jewish/Italian matriarchs, my Italian family were homesteaders near Palo Alto, CA. The FICTIONAL novel about these roots finds sisterly love as transcending handed down violence.
