Elisabeth Tower’s Expertise AWARD WINNING, CREATIVE EDUCATOR AND LEARNING DESIGNER Fearless in tackling the difficult challenges facing our community, such as combating bullying and racial violence, I have developed programs to enact lasting change and to shift the boundaries of current pedagogy and museology. DEPENDABLE WITH A HIGH PRIORITY ON INTEGRITY AND TRUST Honoured to be in service to my community and willing to “walk-the-walk” I led the development of Halifax’s first full free Citizenship Test Preparation Course to support those wishing to become citizens of Canada to achieve their dreams. In order to improve accessibility and create greater accountability to a national audience I spearheaded the design of a free online version of this course available in French and English. INNOVATIVE AND ADAPTIVE LEADER AND PROJECT MANAGER Never failing to explore the newest technologies, I introduced project management software to the organization and was the first to pilot an implementation with my team which helped to streamline productivity. Supporting newcomers and students through mentorship has been a significant and inspiring growth opportunity and I am honoured to regularly be recognized as motivating and inspiring leader. EFFECTIVE PARTNERSHIP AND RELATIONSHIP BUILDER Always thinking big, I partnered with UBC to host a university level course at a national museum which brought educators from around the country to Halifax. Similarly, I worked with the Canadian Student Leadership Conference to host learning programs for nearly 1000 students from across Canada in a single day. THOUGHTFUL AND INFORMED CONCEPTUAL THINKER Evidenced-based risk taking is where I work best. Cognisant of both the art and science required to perform truly inspired work, I’ll keep informed on the latest research to make sure that I can see how each detail is an important part of the bigger picture. GOAL ORIENTED VISIONARY STRATEGIC PLANNER A backwards designer at heart, I’ll start with the “blue sky” visions and turn them into achievable, measurable goals: keeping grounded while advancing innovation. Even the seemingly immeasurable can often be measured using the right tools.
