I have been thoroughly engaged by the highly scientific content alongside the breadth of evidence-based knowledge and experience I have acquired. During my final year dissertation project, I was responsible for autonomously preparing, executing, collecting and analysing a laboratory-based study to investigate the effects on recovery following nutritional supplementation (tart cherry capsules). Through my varied studies at Newcastle University, I have developed a passion for Physiotherapy. I am fascinated by how movement, exercise, manual therapy, empathy, education, good communication and advice can provide a holistic approach in restoring a patient’s health, mobility, function, well-being, confidence in their physical ability and reduce pain. I am keen to develop my experiences further and complete an academic Masters in the profession. I hold a level 3 certification in Personal Training, am certified in First Aid and follow a healthy active lifestyle. I am currently Captain and team manager of a University intra-mural Netball team and achieved champion status for 2-years running. I have also trained and competed in Netball at club and county level throughout my youth. I was also selected for North West regional camp and played for the Netball Superleague Manchester Thunder Youth squad in 2014/15. In 2021, I demonstrated determination and resilience as I volunteered to step into a boxing ring at a charity event following 6-weeks of intensive ‘fight club’ training in a sport I had never experienced.
