These molecular machines and nanoswichtes were used as On –Off catalyst for Micheal addition reaction. Its motion was regulated also with chemical fuel. From synthetic overview, I have practiced up-to-date synthetic methods such as Suzuki and Sonogashira cross-coupling reactions. In addition, I have tried to optimize the reaction conditions of Sonogashira reaction for less reactive crown ether coupling reaction. I have learned how to compose multicomponent molecular switch using well established 1,10 Phenathroline metal complexes such as HETPHEN and HETTAP complexes, Porphyrin- 2nd Amine interaction and protonated amine- crown ether interaction. To characterize the final complexes and their subsequent motion and shuffling upon addition of external stimuli, I have performed various spectroscopic studies such as UV/Vis-, fluorescence-, Mass- and NMR-spectroscopy. Furthermore, I have a solid foundation of biochemistry and biological chemistry in general, specifically of DNA, protein structures and intercalators.
