Emily Barger’s Expertise For 11 years, I enjoyed a robust career in the banking industry, holding positions in retail sales, training, management, and financial planning for clients of high net worth. Although I thoroughly enjoyed my career in banking, in the fall of 2016 I resigned and began working as the Accounting, Finance, and Marketing instructor at Copley High School in order to give back to the industry that helped shape who I am. In the fall of 2019, I was fortunate to be offered a Business Instructor position at Hudson High School where I am currently working. The career transition from banking to education was inspired by my own experience as a student in the Business Career and Technical Program at Cuyahoga Falls High School. I credit the program for helping me get my life on track, and inspiring me to set goals for my future. As a high school business teacher, I strive to help students realize their potential, identify future goals, provide connections to professional opportunities, and ultimately be the adult to them that I needed as an adolescent. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Human Resources, and an MBA in Marketing, graduating with honor from Walsh University and have recently completed the BGSU Alternative Education Licensing Graduate Program. I am passionate about making a difference in the community, and spend my free time volunteering for several non-profits, ministering to the homeless community, and trauma survivors. I am also a member of the Board of Directors GoodPlace Holdings LLC.
