While doing so, I was able to utilize several different terms and methodologies in the operations management world to create a better reputation with Penske Logistics' customer at the Sharonville Ford Transmission plant. While with John Morrell I was responsible for the scheduling and deployment for the Mohawk packing plant in San Jose, California while working remotely in the Cincinnati office. Prior to my current role, I spent just under a year as a material planner/buyer for Steelcraft. My functions there were similar to my role with Penske Logistics as a material coordinator. I was responsible for purchasing and maintaining a satisfactory inventory level for all direct and indirect material used in the production of hollow metal (steel) doors and door frames. However, I ultimately ended back up at Penske Logistics when the opportunity to take over the as the manager role came up. Now I have returned to where my career started and am working on process improvement and developing an environment where my team of 5 employees can be successful and satisfy the customers expectations.
