  About me: Early in my working career, I became interested in working with a company that works with liquid nitrogen, oxygen and hydrogen gas. After meeting with the plant superintendent, I learned what would give me a leg up I’m getting hired there. Although not required it would help for me to have a Truck drivers license with a hazardous tankers endorsement, with this information I went to truck driving school, and got some over the road experience for one year, I went back to the same company and got hired. I gained a ton of experience with them, I worked with reactors in refineries, pipeline work, purged the space shuttle with nitrogen, worked on submarines, Did fog for movies, and that’s just a few interesting things I did and learned. I worked with that company for 6 1/2 years, I was on call 24 hours and can be on a plane within a couple of hours, I traveled throughout the United States with this company. I really enjoyed it. After that I relocated to Southern Oregon, and worked my way up through Boise cascade from dryer puller, spray line, press operator, powerhouse operator assistant with the goal of becoming an operator –, so I went to school to become a boiler journeyman, and became an operator. I showed a lot of interesting how all the controls work and the programming aspect of how the power plant ran, I started learning on my own on how control loops work, my bosses noticed my interest, and nurtured that by sending me to “Foxboro school“, I now go to “Foxboro school“ yearly to learn different aspects from software to hardware, and now I also have the title of powerhouse controls programmer. With this knowledge I was able to make our boilers environmentally compliant with current regulations. That is one of the things I’m most proud of in my career with Boise cascade. With that I also became operations lead, I take this role very seriously and strive to maintain our departments 54 year safety performance record.
